In our lapidarium, we presume that since the 60s of the twentieth century (unfortunately, no record of the acquisition has survived), there were stone balls on pedestals, commonly known from the old palaces and mansions of our region (e.g. Łabędnik, Bogatyńskie).

They were usually flanked by ceremonial stairs, we also know them from the lintels of Gdańsk tenement houses. These "our" balls were taken out of the cellar and placed at the beginning of the path on the western zwinger. Thanks to this, they have returned to their original function a bit.
The restoration of the zwingers and gardens was carried out as part of the project: "Conservation and restoration of the fourteenth-century castle in Lidzbark Warmiński – pearls of Gothic architecture in Poland – stage III" co-financed from funds received from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA funds, from the state budget and co-financed by the Local Government of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
Together, we are working towards a green, competitive and inclusive Europe.
